Robinia Play Equipment
ROBINIA WOOD NATURAL PLAYGROUNDS
At Legnolandia, our production with low environmental impact means always the choice of renewable raw materials and the only use of clean energy. From the Friuli Venezia Giulia forests we harvest different types of timber that are used to produce our exclusive items. One of these essences which became very popular in recent years, is the Robinia Wood.
Robinia Playgrounds benefit from the excellent technological qualities of this wood that Legnolandia collects directly from the protected and controlled forests. Robinia Pseudoacacia is a plant of the Fabaceae family, also called Leguminosae. Due to its rapid growth (in which stores a lot of CO2) this plant needs frequent thinning, with which we collect the trunks for our structures, allowing the young plants to reoccupy the space left free by thinning. Therefore, this type of wood is available for different construction solutions by offering an extraordinary alternative to exotic woods (such as Teack) which can be saved from the deforestation.
The durability of this wood is amply demonstrated by the poles driven into the Friuli Venezia Giulia vineyards, which help to maintain a typical landscape of our region Infact, Robinia Wood (or black locust wood) is more robust than oak or larch, it is extremely resistant to bending and highly resistant to loads especially dynamics. The Robinia Wood used for Playground Equipment offers an excellent performance in terms of strength, design and durability.
RESISTANT AND DURABLE ROBINIA WOOD
The high resistance of the inside part of Robinia Wood represents about 80% of the trunk. The natural slightly twisted design of the Robinia trunks offers a natural look and a rustic charm. In particular with playground equipment, Robinia Wood allows a fairy-tale reading of the children's equipment and a perfect match with parks in harmony with nature.
EXPERIENCE AT THE SERVICE OF SAFETY
At Legnolandia, the centenary experience in woodworking is combined with its technological innovation with which always aims to the top research of safety, allows the construction of durable, design and above all safe play equipment and furniture in Robinia wood, guarantees a unique environmental value, made of natural and renewable products with high CO2 storage. The particularity of Robinia wood, with its natural shapes requires much attention with the calculation of the free spaces in order to avoid the entrapment of parts of the children's body during the play. Special certified devices help Legnolandia master craftsmen to assemble properly all components by creating safe and functional plays.
Robinia Playground Equipment is produced by using natural trunks that are debarked, smoothed and worked entirely by hand. The high static and mechanical resistance of the Robinia Wood allows a long life for play structures, equipment and furniture even if they are installed “nature” without any specific surface treatment. It is possible to install the equipment that maintains the color of the natural Robinia Wood, or on demand, painted with non-toxic and Biological colors for outdoor.
WE DESIGN YOUR OWN THEME PARK IN ROBINIA WOOD
At Legnolandia for our over ten years of experience, and for the attention we always had for the safety of our children and the possibility of making them play in an inclusive way, we design, produce and install our black locust wood - robinia wood play equipment built according to the customer's needs, also by fitting it to the specific "theme" of the playground. We have a wide range of made in Italy equipment: climbing structures, houses, slides, skill tracks, sensory paths, seesaws and swings.
The locust wood (robinia) play equipment proposed by Legnolandia meets the GPP Criteria (EU) for pubblic communities. Our facilities can expand over time, are designed for easy disassembly (ecodesign) and above all they can have a second life at the end of their service, according to the principle of CIRCULAR ECONOMY. Thanks to a virtuous production, powered only by renewable energy, we are close to reaching the "zerofoot print" and thus contribute to the mitigation of global warming.
