Outdoor didactics and Next Generation EU Plan (NGEU): our proposals for the growing need for open-air educational play areas.

It comes from Northern Europe. Outdoor Education has now a quick spread in Italy as well. It is a very current proposal considering the lifestyle "imposed" by the recent pandemics. The word Outdoor Education includes different types of experiences that can be carried out in outside schools, equipped green areas and urban green spaces.
The main activities are sensory pathways, educational vegetable gardens and outdoor classrooms which are activities that can be performed both at school and during spare time together with families.

Sensory pathways and innovative laboratories

are precious ludic-motor-didactic systems for enjoying the so-called "totalizing" experiences where children are completely involved in a multisensory situation based on their interests and their individual needs.
Outdoor children realize things that they might hardly notice indoors. Often in a monotonous environment, such as a classroom, a child has very labile attention: after about ten minutes he is already tired. Outdoors his attention improves and it can last a very long time. This equipment includes the sensory paths Legnolandia which have been designed to lead users to a fun attentive and aware journey, in search of forgotten feelings. The contact with nature is constant thanks to the material with which the path is built:wood which is the most renewable and natural raw material in the world. Pathways are inclusive because they allow the use by all users, regardless of their abilities. Particular attention is given to the practicability and the inclusion of the equipment that facilitates the use by both children and adults, regardless of their age.

Educational Gardens

ideal for playing, manual skills and learning through nature.
These facilities allow you to learn in a cooperative and inclusive way, assuming care responsibilities towards the environment and the ecosystem, with positive and emotional impacts. By taking care of these areas, they can also encourage the involvement of parents and volunteers by strengthening the role of the Authorities in the Community. This equipment is suitable for outdoor areas such as municipalities, schools and other public areas. Educational Garden equipment offers children multiple benefits such as cooperation, sensory development, a sense of responsibility and satisfaction, food education, manual skills, experience with natural cycles, socialization and integration. Public areas also benefit from the re-development, life and urban decorum.

Open-Air Classrooms

allow safe, clean, inclusive, emotional activities, in continuous and constant harmony with the territory.
Today the new educational schemes invite us to re-think the spaces intended for teaching by going beyond the physical borders of the classrooms and thanks to the outdoor areas where lessons can be held. The environment, the territory, the greenery and nature thus become important for the children educational process together with learning in the classroom. Thanks to the outdoor educational systems, everyone can achieve the required objectives and achieve the benefits from the emotional positivity. Open-air school also reduces school stress of the children and improves their psychophysical well-being. The areas can be organized by exploiting the shade of the trees, or with special structures without walls that shade the children's workstations. The "classrooms in nature" can be integrated with sensory pathways,.

This equipment is "PLASTIC FREE" and designed to resist outdoor for a long time thanks to the use of long-lasting wood essences. The production process is performed by using exclusively energy obtained from renewable sources (sun, water, biomass) and raw materials in compliance with the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM – GPP). Wood is a material capable of storing carbon inside and grants a tangible and real reduction in CO2 emissions.
