VOLUNTARY AGREEMENT BETWEEN LEGNOLANDIA AND THE ITALIAN MINISTRY OF ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION. THE GOAL IS THE ACCOUNTING AND THE REDUCTION OF THE EMISSIONS DURING THE LIFE-CYCLE OF THE WOODEN PRODUCTS FOR BIO-BUILDING, STREET FURNITURE AND PLAY EQUIPMENT, AIMING FOR "CARBON NEUTRAL" BY 2025

The calculation of the carbon footprint of houses and buildings in green building industry, furniture and wooden structures for street furniture, play equipment for green areas, such as towers with slides, castles, swings and tunnels, by identifying and adopting technological and management choices, aimed at reducing that same footprint, with positive results in the short and medium term in terms of energy saving and reduction of emissions.
This is what Legnolandia Srl which is one of the leading Italian companies in the field of design, manufacturing, transformation and marketing wooden products in the green building industry, urban furniture and play equipment, intends to achieve, as part of the voluntary agreement signed with the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition for the calculation of the environmental footprint, the first signed in Italy with the new Dicastery.
The agreement, which will last for two years and it can be renewed, was signed on 16th June by the General Director of the Ministry Mr. Oliviero Montanaro and the President of Legnolandia Srl, Mr. Marino De Santa. This agreement is part of the corporate DNA, given that Legnolandia has always used energy and resources to obtain products which could ensure very high performances by reducing as much as possible the environmental impact. Therefore, the company is going to calculate and to reduce the impact of the products included in the specific work plan that establishes activities and timeline, in particular to the accounting of the carbon footprint (i.e. the measurement of the equivalent CO2).
Legnolandia is also committed to defining "a specific emissions system during the production, processing and marketing of wooden products in the green building, urban furniture and play equipment fields". It also undertakes to evaluate the residual emissions of the equivalent CO2 (after interventions of reduction) and then to identify possible actions to offset them.
"We are very pleased to join this National Environmental Footprint Assessment Program thanks to this voluntary agreement - commented Mr. De Santa - as our company intends to further strengthen its environmental policy in the climate sector, through initiatives and commitments that are in line with the Italian Government policies under the European Green Deal and the Paris Agreement. We aim to be Carbon Neutral in 2025 - he added -, also because we are aware that final consumers are increasingly sensitive to the environmental value of their choices and this value is increasingly perceived like a factor of competitiveness ".

The Ministry of Ecological Transition, committed to supporting, "with programs in collaboration with municipalities and companies, the promotion of the reduction of the emissions and the spread of a sustainable production and consumption models", through the General Directorate for Sustainable Growth and the Quality of the Development, will provide its institutional collaboration, by monitoring and coordinating Legnolandia in all activities. With this agreement, Legnolandia also undertakes to communicate all the results of the different implementation phases, in agreement with the Ministry. Thanks to this strategic operation, Legnolandia will be assisted by the Next Relations Communication Agency of Udine like an advisor. During the calculation and subsequent evaluation of the measures to be implemented to reduce the footprint and offset the residual emissions, the company will be assisted by an important research institute.

Mrs. Vannia Gava, undersecretary for Ecological Transition, wrote it in a message addressed to the President of Legnolandia.
