The wood which is used to produce our products comes from PEFC Certified Forests that are subject to controlled taking and certified by the brand ICILA. This makes the difference with all the producers who use the raw materials carried by road from exotic Countries with the consequent air pollution and the CO2 emissions.The Silver Fir (Abies Alba) is a wild plant with many advantages: among the conifers is the only essence without resin pockets, its fiber is compact and durable and allows an easy penetration of the treatment preservatives. This local essence is the main element for the manufacturing of the prefabricated houses and of the outdoor structures at Legnolandia. 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY
The thermal energy that we consume during our production operations comes from a modern biomass plant which is fed by wood that comes from the waste from the process. The burning of the wooden biomass closes a natural cycle which doesn’t increase the concentration of the CO2 in the air (greenhouse effect) This is the difference with the use of fossil fuel like carbon, gas or oil that release CO2 together with other pollutants like the nitrogen, sulphur oxides and fine dust.
We use electrical energy which comes from solar power plants and hydroelectric plants on our area with the complete reduction of the dangerous emissions. This plays the difference with those Companies which are linked to a National net of fossil fuel fired power plants which are real pollution sources.
RECYCLABILITY and RE-USE
During our production operations, we use almost always recycled and recyclable materials like polyethylene, steel, wood and rubber. Components and assembly have been designed to facilitate the “debuilding” and the re-use of the parts after the lend of the life span of the product.
BIO PAINT
The paint industry really moved forward towards sustainability compared with the past. Infact, they have introduced water based paints. But nowadays that is not enough! Most of the water paints are still produced with a fossil base. Legnolandia today has adopted a revolutionary technology to replace the fossil based components with renewable materials, reducing furthermore the environmental impact without sacrificing the performance. We use bio paints which come from vegetable raw materials (waste from the agri-food industry) not in competition with the human food to color some of our products. This makes the difference with those manufacturers who use the synthetic paints and glazes which have high dangerous emissions. The quality brand "Decovery" grants the sustainability of the paints that we use for the benefit of our children and for the whole planet.
