An inclusive playground can be used by a wide range of users with different abilities, without particular adaptations, without special designs.
Many people hold a level of small or medium disability that does not require as radical a design as that for wheelchair users. The difference between an inclusive playground and a disabled playground therefore starts with the design, which is designed to allow children to have fun together, without barriers or divisions.
Legnolandia, thanks to more than 30 years of experience in designing and building playgrounds, knows well the “barriers” that block access to activities for children with disabilities. Therefore, following European guidelines and in dialogue with families, designers and organizations, it has designed facilities suitable for everyone, trying not to look only at disability but rather at what children are able to do with their possibilities.

Example of inclusive playgrounds
Children do not need to access the game spaces in the same way but everyone has the right to play. For this reason a good design of the inclusive park is necessary, both of the structures inserted therein and the spaces around them as well as the access roads.
The Design for All Italia association has granted Legnolandia the 2018 DfA Seal of Quality (Design for All).
With Village For All, we designed three inclusive playgrounds by selecting the equipment best suited to the needs of children. The proposed playgrounds can thus benefit from the “V4A Approved” label certifying that they correspond to inclusive accessibility parameters.
